Gamers, remember those PC games we used to play when we're little?
Those were the games that lead to today's innovative, creative, enhanced games that the whole world experienced. But, these games were the predecessors and they delivered awesome gameplay & graphics. I took the privilege to list down MY TOP 10 OLD SCHOOL PC GAMES. So, here goes......
10. Freedom Force
At first when I glared at this game, I thought "what the hell is this?' It was my brother who told me to test it out. I inserted this game in and then...wow! this game is awesome. This is somehow a cool game that offers plentiful super heroes to choose from. My personal favorite? El Diablo. Somehow he reminds me of the late Eddie Guerrero. Oh, the supervillains are cool too like the Deja Vu. He's a gay dude :D
9. Command & Conquer : Red Alert 2
This game is throughout the best Command & Conquer game. Gameplay's awesome, the graphics are nice, hell the funny cutscenes are what makes the game unforgettable. Who could've forgotten Tanya.. hmmm Tanya. Anyways, its a great game, even the expansion, "YURI's revenge" is even better. We can play as Yuri's army and stealing resources by using a UFO-like unit. NOW THAT's EPIC. Even the sequel, Red Alert 3 isn't worth to be its successor. (That Game Sux)
8. Half-Life
The whole world is crazy about this game. It was superb during that time. Well, to be honest I'm not fond towards the main campaign. But the multiplayer? Man it was the best. U get to kill Ur buddies in a deathmatch with customizable appearances and cool weapons. To My knowledge, this was the 1st game to let U be an alienhead human and shoot stuffs. Now wasn't that cool? Its other content, "Counterstrike" is legendary and is still being played until today!
7. Warcraft II : Tides of Darkness
Blizzard's finest game during that time. I have to say this is one of my favorite realtime-strategy game. It pits two races that is Orcs & Humans. What makes this game memorable was the ability to build units for Land, Air & Sea. The gameplay is top-notch, the graphics were pretty. Well, u guys know the rest. The storytelling is meaningful. That's what makes Blizzard games so special. They make games like movies. The sequels are masterfully done specifically Warcraft III. I hope they still develop a strategy game for Warcraft again... Don't U guys agree?
6. FIFA 96
Every FIFA game delivers! But this was the 1st Fifa game I ever played thanks to my brother :D
To Me this game was perfect. Everything about it is simply the best. Even though I get my ASS kicked plenty of times, I'd still get back in to.. get my ASS kicked again. But that's what makes FIFA games fun. It doesn't matter if we lose we'll still be having fun. RIGHT????
5. Monster Truck Madness 2
U all may be wondering "What the heck is this?". But, as a kid I've always been crazy about Monster Trucks (EVEN NOW). this is (to me) the granddaddy of racing games. The tracks? Awesome. The Jumps? Psyche!. Tons of selection of trucks. What could I've ask for more? Today, no more monster truck games are being produced besides Motorstorm. But that's not a mainly a monster truck game. WHAT A SHAME =='.
4. Dungeon Keeper
Ahhh.. Dungeon Keeper. A game that let us be evil and decimate the good guys. Dungeon Keeper is a strategy video game released for the PC in 1997 which the player attempts to build and manage a dungeon or lair while defending it from 'hero' characters intent on stealing our accumulated treasures and killing various monsters. Well the monsters are controlled by us which is epic. I can play this game for hours even though my dungeon heart was destroyed a couple of times. My favorite unit in this game? Definitely Dragon :D. Next month, a new version of this game will be released with high-end graphics (by the looks of its screenshots) titled "Dungeons". I'm hoping for the best on this one.
3. Starcraft
There's too much words to descibe how epic this game. Well let's say
extremely well-crafted game. Starcraft is too good to be reviewed. It's just plain epic. This is no doubt my favorite real-time strategy game. The gameplay is well-balanced between the 3 races, Terran, Zerg & Protoss. The graphics were beautiful and even is until today. Storytelling is truly memorable. Everything about Starcraft is perfect! The Sequel? Awesome (except for the non-existent of LAN play). I'm pretty sure all gamers have played this game. Coz if they haven't, They're missing out......
2. The Sims
I had to put this game above Starcraft because this game truly sucks me in. A truly remarkable game that puts this game into a higher level. Sorry Starcraft. I skipped breakfast, lunch and dinner because of this game. U cannot let go of the mouse cause Ur addicted to working Ur way to the top. This game even corrupts my brothers and sisters. The computer nearly malfunction due to a lengthy ON time. The expansions are cool too. House-party's the best! Letting ur Sim pole-dancing at its own party. WOW! The sequels are nothing compared to this one. The Sims can be described as A Highly Addictive Game.
MY NO.1 OLD SCHOOL PC GAME IS........... YEAH. U've Guessed IT.....
1. Diablo
Diablo's the ultimate winner of my list. The hack-n-slash gameplay is gory & fun and the loot system is epic. The graphics were dark, gothic and the best during the 90's. The sounds were creepy and the music was memorable. That's what Diablo was meant to be like! Yes I'm talking about Diablo 2 & 3. The story? Beyond epic. Everything is a MASTERPIECE!!!
None is comparable to this game. If U gamers out there never ever played this game, U should quit calling Urself a gamer. CHEERS TO DIABLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, that was my list of top-10 old school pc games. Hope ur satisfied :D
